We share the adventure with you.
Snow Travels is a small, local tour company from Tromsø — the heart of Arctic Norway. We run intimate Northern Lights hunts because the best moments happen when you feel like you're out with friends, not on a bus tour.
A once-in-a-lifetime hunt for the Northern Lights
Snow Travels is a small, local tour company based in Tromsø — the heart of Arctic Norway. We believe the best Northern Lights experiences happen when you feel like you are out with friends and an expert guide. That's why we recommend our tours in small groups of max. 15 people in a minibus — personal, intimate, and flexible.
Your experienced local guide will pick you up in the city center and take you on a breathtaking journey through Tromsø's mountains, fjords and valleys. Along the way we make stops to take photos of the stunning scenery and check for the Aurora Borealis.

Cozy, flexible, and ready for any weather
Traveling in a small group in a minibus creates a cozy atmosphere, and we are more flexible on the road to reach remote and distant places in the countryside. Arctic nature is unpredictable and wild, so expect an unforgettable experience.
Do not worry about the cold temperatures — we provide insulated whole-body suits to keep you warm. Your guide takes photos during the tour, and we bring extra tripods and even a spare camera that you can use for the evening.
We aim to ensure your safety while having the lifetime experience with the northern lights during your Arctic stay. There will be a warm meal and hot drinks, as well as typical Norwegian snacks served, so you can enjoy the bonfire. If you are a vegetarian or have specific dietary preferences, inform us, and we will make you a nice meal. After the tour, we will take you directly to your hotels in the main city centre.

The honest answers.
01What is the difference between the minibus and bus tour?
Minibus Tour from 2,400 kr: Max 15 guests, much more personal experience, more flexible routing, hot meal included on unlimited chase. Your guide has time for every single guest. Best for those who want the most immersive experience.
Bus Tour from 1000kr: Max 52 guests, great value, same expert guides and same success rate. Best for budget-conscious travellers or those who enjoy a larger group atmosphere.
02How long do the tours last?
Tours runs for 5–9 hours. There is no fixed end time on unlimited and bus chase, we stay out as long as needed to find the lights. If the aurora appears at 2am on coast, we're still there. This unlimited approach is a key reason for our industry leading success rate.
03Where do we meet?
Your guide will meet you and greet you welcome at Scandic Ishavshotel in the city centre.
04What if I don't see the northern lights?
With a 98,1% success rate in solarmaximum this is rare, but nature can never be 100% guaranteed. We believe in total honesty - if conditions look very poor, we will tell you upfront and give you the option to reschedule before departure.
05Is it suitable for children or older guests?
Absolutely. Our small groups and warm minibus make it relaxed for both kids and grandparents. The late hours and cold mean the tour is best suited to ages 5 and up.
06What languages do you guide in?
English main language, but we also got spanish/portuguese guides. Marius also speaks alittle portuguese.
07Is food included?
On the VIP tour, yes — warm hotdogs by the bonfire, plus hot drinks and typical Norwegian snacks. Vegetarian and other dietary preferences are catered for if you let us know in advance. The short chase and Big Bus tours include hot drinks and snacks, but no meal.
08How many people are in the group?
We keep our minibus groups small — a maximum of 15 guests, so the experience feels personal and flexible. The Big Bus tour takes a larger group.
